On June 3, Mikhail shamolin, President of segezha group, and Yuri Soloviev, first vice president and chairman of Russia foreign trade bank, signed a memorandum of financial strategic cooperation on segezha west project in the Republic of Karelia at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg (spief2021).
This fund will support the construction of an advanced biotechnology complex in Karelia, including segezha pulp and paper mill and segezha packaging.
The total cost of the project is about 178 billion rubles (about 15.6 billion RMB). After completion, the annual production capacity will reach 1.5 million tons, which will create about 700 high-tech jobs for the region and help solve the local environmental problems and energy supply system such as heat energy.
