The world’s largest pulp company will build the world’s largest single eucalyptus pulp base

On May 12, Suzano, the world’s largest pulp company, announced that it would build a new eucalyptus pulp plant, cerrado, with a capacity of 2.3 million tons. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of the first quarter of 2024.

Since the combination of parrot pulp in 2019, goldfish pulp has reached 10.9 million tons per year, becoming the largest pulp supplier in the world, which accounts for more than 14% of the global commodity pulp and nearly 30% of the bleached broad-leaved pulp.

The new project announced is located in ribasdoriopardo, matogrosssodosul state, Brazil. After the project is put into operation, it will increase the pulp capacity of 20% for goldfish pulp and will become the largest single eucalyptus pulp factory in the world. The project name comes from the Salado grassland, Brazil’s second largest biological community. The 200 million hectares of tropical grassland occupies nearly a quarter of Brazil’s land area, and once performed miracles from wasteland to world granary. This also shows the ambition of sustainable and innovative development of goldfish pulp.

The announcement said the project will receive an industrial investment of 14.7 billion rears (about 18.1 billion yuan), one of Brazil’s largest private investment projects so far. The new plant will be the first pulp and paper plant in Brazil to use non fossil fuel energy, and supply 180 megawatts of surplus energy to the Brazilian grid while satisfying its own use. This is a milestone in the road of ecological energy efficiency of goldfish pulp, and it is also an important commitment to sustainable development of goldfish pulp.

Eucalyptus is one of the three most famous fast-growing species in the world and one of the most important raw materials in the world paper industry. Brazil is the largest Eucalyptus planting area in the world. The annual growth of Eucalyptus Plantation in Brazil is 60-80 cubic meters per year. The new project will make full use of Brazil’s resource advantages to provide more sustainable raw materials to the world.

“The new project represents an important step forward in our long-term strategy,” said Walter schalka, CEO of goldfish pulp. Our products have been integrated into the wonderful lives of two billion people around the world. We have been committed to the production and development of renewable products and sustainable materials to meet the growing needs of the world. The Salado project will also make an important contribution to this end, while increasing income and employment in the region, it will also expand our forest base and improve our carbon capture capacity. In the future, we will also achieve recycling of resources by fostering more forests. “
