Recently, Smurfit Kappa announced the construction of a new laboratory at its new e-commerce packaging factory in Northampton, UK. The establishment of the new laboratory will further improve the company’s paper packaging testing level and support retailers and manufacturers to develop, test and launch subversive paper packaging solutions for e-commerce with minimal risk.
Smurfitkappa first set up a packaging laboratory in the Netherlands. It has more than 14 years of experience in testing new innovative packaging solutions. Through laboratory analysis and testing, it ensures that the launch of each new product can meet the needs of the supply chain.
Smurfitkappa expert team works with customers to continuously develop new packaging solutions to minimize and prevent product damage during distribution. The prototype design is then rigorously tested to ensure that the required performance standards for pressure, drop and vibration are met to obtain certification. After certification, the packaging solution will be put into production for customers.

In addition to the new e-commerce laboratory, an experience center will be built to let customers experience various innovative solutions in the field of packaging in advance. The center will be equipped with the most advanced technology and tools to experience the value of innovative paper packaging from warehouse to terminal store.
