Printing paper with antiviral properties launched in Japan

Japan paper has recently launched a kind of printing paper with antiviral, antibacterial and deodorizing functions. This new product, called “NPI antiviral advanced paper”, uses modified cellulose as raw material, which can be printed and processed like ordinary printing paper, and can be used in various fields.

The “modified cellulose” developed by the company can carry metal ions and has high antiviral, antibacterial and deodorizing effects of metal ions. The virus infection rate (PFU) of two kinds of viruses (coated and non coated) on a blank paper decreased by 99.9% after 2 hours. The same results were obtained for printing products with a printing area ratio of 50%.
