Germany: the price of uncoated cultural paper increases

Russia: newsprint prices continue to rise
According to overal, Russia’s largest printer, the price of newsprint in Russia has increased by 5% – 7% in April, and since this year, the price of newsprint has increased by 10% – 15%. At present, the price of newsprint in the Russian market is about 500 US dollars / ton (excluding VAT). The reason for the price increase is that three of the four paper machines of Volga paper mill, Russia’s largest newsprint producer, have been shut down due to renovation. At present, there is a shortage of newsprint in the Russian market.
Italy: packaging paperboard will be raised by 50 euro / ton
Sonoco alcore, one of the largest producers of uncoated recycled cardboard in Europe, announced that it would increase the price of its products in the Italian market from June 15 and planned to raise the price by 50 euro per ton.
UK: light weight coated paper price increase in July
The main paper suppliers in the UK market have informed downstream customers that the price of LWC will start to increase from July 1. However, some experts analyze that it will be more difficult to raise the price of LWC in the UK market than in the European inland countries due to the exchange rate of the British currency.
