In recent years, the use of disposable plastics in daily life has reached an intolerable level. China and other countries in the world are formulating a series of environmental protection policies to reduce the use of disposable plastics and replace them with other materials and reusable packaging.
On October 27, the Department of ecological environment of Hainan Province issued the list of ecological environment access in Hainan Province (2021 version) (hereinafter referred to as the list), indicating that Hainan will implement the negative list system of industrial access and comprehensively prohibit the development of high energy consumption, high pollution, high emission industries and low-end manufacturing industries, It is also proposed to completely eliminate and shut down the production enterprises of disposable non degradable plastic products listed in the list of prohibited plastics in Hainan Province.
This is a further measure after Hainan completely banned the marketing of disposable plastic packaging products, which is conducive to completely eliminate the source of local disposable plastic products, so as to better implement the green rise plan of Hainan.
In addition, France will ban plastic packaging of dozens of vegetables and fruits from next year, and the plastic ban will be extended to all vegetables and fruits five years later.
The French Ministry of environment released a list on the 11th. About 30 kinds of vegetables and fruits, including leeks, eggplants, tomatoes, apples, bananas and oranges, will not be allowed to use plastic packaging from January 1 next year.
A few perishable fruits and vegetables, such as virgin fruit, asparagus, mushrooms, cherries and strawberries, can still be packaged in plastic next year, but they need to be phased out. All of them will be sold in bulk before July 2026.
It is estimated that nearly 40% of fruits and vegetables will be sold in plastic packaging in the French market. After the implementation of the plastic ban, more than 1 billion unnecessary plastic packaging can be reduced every year.
According to the government’s plastic ban plan, France banned the use of plastic straw, cups, knife spoons and foam plastic takeaway boxes in 2021. From 2022, plastic packaging shall not be used for transportation publications; Fast food restaurants shall not provide free plastic toys; Direct drinking faucets must be installed in public places to reduce the use of plastic beverage bottles.
