The German federal agency for foreign trade and investment reported on August 25. Despite the impact of the epidemic, German paper equipment exports to China increased by 28% in the first half of this year. Most competitors, including Finland, Italy, the United States, Japan, South Korea and Switzerland, suffered double-digit losses in the same period.
Due to the great improvement in technology and quality of Chinese machinery and equipment enterprises, the dependence on imported paper-making equipment has decreased significantly in recent years. As China’s most important supplier, Germany’s export of papermaking equipment to China decreased from US $270 million to US $110 million in 2019, a decrease of 60%. In spite of the new crown crisis, German paper equipment exports to China have increased against the trend, further boosting the confidence of German enterprises.
