Finney called for the Supreme Administrative Court’s decision to be repealed

On June 1, finnpulpoy (Fanny pulp), which plans to carry out the biological products factory project in Kuopio, Finland, submitted an application for abolition to the local Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) on May 25, 2021. Fanny pulp called for the cancellation of the decision to deny the environmental license of the plant project and the immediate granting of the environmental license. The matter was examined with the approval of the Supreme Administrative Court.

The company believes that the decision at that time was based on procedural errors related to the hearing and the temporary nature of the permit, as well as a misunderstanding of the concept of uncertainty in the environmental protection act.

Marty Frederickson, chief executive of Fanny pulp, said the company had reached a new agreement with the city of coopio on the site of the plant.

According to the plan, the biological products plant will produce 1.2 million tons of coniferous pulp and a large number of biochemical products and bioelectricity every year. According to Frederickson, the additional heat generated by biological products factories from renewable raw materials can also serve nearby communities at an estimated cost of 1.6 billion euros.

In the construction phase, it will provide 6000 people / year. After completion, the plant will bring 3400 jobs.

Fanny pulp is a company specialized in managing the investment in Finland’s new softwood pulp mill.
